Australia's Gems of Nature

The massive bulk of expats who have decided that shipping to Australia and it's warmer climate is the way to go have ended up living in the coastal cities dotted around the perimeter of the island. However, all over Australia there are also tons of hidden gems that must be checked out in order to learn more about the large and diverse country that is Australia. So when it comes to holiday time, here are some of the best locations in Australia for expats who want to check out some more of their new home country’s lovely landscape:

Daintree Rainforest

Daintree Rainforest is a spectacular feat of nature. Located north of Cairns, Australia’s largest rainforest has lots to do for visitors, such as boat tours to spot crocodiles, hikes through the mangroves, visiting animal sanctuaries to see some of the local species, and taking tours to learn about the indigenous history of the area.

Grampians National Park

Located in Victoria, this massive national park is home to some incredible indigenous rock art, and visitors come to take in the natural beauty of the area and hike the amazing scenic trails through the sandstone ridges of the landscape.

The Great Ocean Road

One of the most beautiful and scenic drives on earth, the Great Ocean Road runs for 150 miles along the Victoria coastline, overlooking cliffs and the ocean and at times taking you through rainforest scenery. There are many cute towns along the way you can stop at, and there are places to also stop and swim and relax.

Esperance

This Western Australian gem is a lovely, relaxed little town with stunning beaches and coastline, and is a popular spot for surfing and scuba diving. It is renowned for the beach having Australia’s whitest sand, and also the Cyclops wave, said to be the heaviest wave in the world! There are also 5 national parks nearby the town, as well as salt lakes like Pink Lake, known for its pink hue created by the algae. Definitely a place to see nature at its best.

Kangaroo Island

Located in South Australia, Kangaroo Island attracts many visitors for its gorgeous scenery and great wildlife spotting! As well as seeing plenty of kangaroos, you can head to Seal Bay to watch the Sea Lions lying on the shore, or to Penneshaw or Kingscote to see the incredible Little Penguin colonies that make their homes there.
