Port Information
The main port of Jamaica is the Port of Kingston. Kingston harbour is the seventh largest natural harbour in the world and receives a large amount of container traffic due to its location in the Caribbean Sea. The container terminal in the Port of Kingston has undergone a substantial expansion in capacity in recent years to handle the growth in traffic expected in coming years. In the future Jamaica is expected to benefit from the expanded Panama Canal with the prospects of significant increase in trading vessels arriving, and importantly, passing through Jamaican waters. This will afford great opportunities for emerging logistics trends to meet with an increasing trade through Caribbean waters including new designated Free Zone sites on unused terminal land.
