International moves involve multiple stages of loading, shipping and delivery, so keeping handling to a minimum is important. For shared container moves to Malta, your household goods are professionally wrapped and packed before being secured onto individual pallets using our Shrink-Fast packing system.
Each pallet keeps your belongings grouped together as a clearly identifiable shipment, helps maintain stability inside the container and reduces the amount of loose handling during the journey. On arrival in Malta, palletised shipments can also be handled and presented for customs clearance more easily than individual loose items packed directly into a shared container.
Takes 60 seconds. Free, and no obligation.
We operate regular weekly shipping services from the UK to Malta, with sailings arriving at Malta Freeport in Marsaxlokk, the island’s main container port. Once your collection is booked, our team will collect and professionally pack your belongings, prepare a detailed inventory and arrange loading onto the next suitable sailing.
Sea transit times are typically around 3 weeks, with current scheduled sailings taking approximately 21 to 22 days to Malta Freeport. Your overall door-to-door moving time will also include UK collection and packing, Maltese customs clearance and final delivery to your new home.
We normally collect and pack your belongings 7 to 10 days before vessel sailing times. This allows sufficient time to prepare your inventory and customs documentation and have your shipment ready for loading onto the next suitable sailing.

Packed, measured and photographed before shipping.
These are genuine 1st Move customer shipments, photographed after packing and palletisation and before container loading.
For shared-container moves, the final packed volume directly affects what you pay. We measure the finished shipment accurately in cubic metres (cbm) and photograph it with its measurements clearly recorded - giving customers visible evidence of both how their belongings were packed and the actual volume they are being charged for.
We are the only international removals company to provide this photographic proof of the finished, measured shipment.
