The cost of shipping your furniture will vary based on the packed size of your shipment, as well as the method of shipping, collection address, destination port and, if you utilise our door to door service, your final delivery address.

If you use our LCL (Less than Container Load) shared container service, then your cost is based on the size of your furniture shipment once packed and palletised using our specialist packing process. As with commercial carriers, our freight costs are based on the volumetric size of your packed furniture shipment, so if you are shipping 4.5 cubic metres of furniture you are invoiced for 4.5 cubic metres of furniture.
For larger moves, it may be more cost effective to ship your furniture using our full container load (FCL) container service. We still collect your items loose using our specialist removals vans and experienced collection teams, and still palletise your goods for protection, but for FCL services you get the whole shipping container to yourselves. Your furniture is loaded into the container at our warehouse, and it is not taken out of the container until it arrives at its final destination.
There are options to use 20’ shipping containers, or 40’ shipping containers, and our knowledgeable and experienced team can help you to choose the best option for you based on the size of your furniture shipment.
Because 1st Move International uses commercial LCL shipping services, we are able to give you published schedules to let you know when we are shipping to each country. Once your furniture shipment is packed and all documentation is in place, we book onto the next available booked vessel to the port in COUNTRY.
For the latest shipping schedules for COUNTRY then you can go over to our International Container Shipping Schedule page of our website. This shows you the port to port transit time, but for confirmation of the expected door to door transit time please give us a call and we can give you the dates based on your specific requirements.
Other International Removals companies can give you similar port to port transit times but they won’t be able to give you an indication of when your furniture shipment will leave the UK. Their groupage/shared container services operate differently to 1st Move International. Ask them when your furniture shipment is likely to ship from the UK.
